Improving Pandemic Response: Reducing Risk for Supply Chains

On May 18th, 2021, SafeRock CEO Shah Karim attended the 2021 IRI Annual Conference with the EVP of Crown Holdings (NYSE: CCK), Dan Abramowicz. The 2021 IRI Annual Conference was set up with the goal of learning from the mistakes made by corporations amidst the COVID pandemic in 2020. Ultimately, the conference attempts to help formulate the necessary tactical plans to help facilitate effective business management practices in a new era of innovation in a post-COVID world.

 

Shah addressed the vulnerabilities of corporate supply chains that have been exposed during  the COVID pandemic and identify solutions that strengthen corporate responses for future pandemics.

 

More specifically, during the conference, Shah discussed methods of how firms could draw upon industrial supply chain and S&OP practices to bolster and enhance the adaptability of the supply chain response to a pandemic crisis. Shah focuses specifically on firms utilizing Big Data, digital systems, and analytics to reduce risk and improve resilience of their supply chains thus avoiding future bottlenecks.
